Monica graduated from Dominican University where she majored in Informatics/IT with a concentration in User Experience (UX) and minored in Graphic Design. While in college, she worked in various roles both on and off campus such as a videographer/photographer and a TRIO SSS Ambassador. After graduation, she completed her AmeriCorps service year as a College Success Coach with College Possible, where she supported freshmen and sophomore college students in navigating their college journey.
From these experiences, Monica developed a passion for working with young people from first-generation backgrounds and underserved communities by helping them navigate the college experience, career exploration, and post-grad life. It has led her to become the impactful leader that she is today and to continuously challenge the status quo. Outside of work, she is a member of a nationwide mentorship non-profit called Step Up, which focuses on women's empowerment with the mission of guiding teen girls and young women between the ages of 14-29 toward their version of success through programs and events focused on career readiness.
Monica enjoys exploring new places, listening to music, collecting Funko Pops, dancing, and traveling.
