Philip (he/him) received his Bachelor of Arts from Vanderbilt University. A firm believer in diversity, equity, and inclusion, Philip strives to always cultivate an inclusive space for all. As a special education teacher, Philip has extensive experience working with students with learning differences. He has taught at some of the top high schools in the Chicagoland area including Walter Payton College Preparatory High School, the 5th-ranked high school in the nation according to U.S. News & World Report. As a high school teacher, Philip sponsored many clubs including Pre-Med Club, Asian Students’ Initiative, Social Service Club, and Gay-Straight Alliance.
Philip has always been a theater kid at heart growing up in Fort Sheridan and Northfield. Previously an actor, Philip has been in several professional regional productions including appearances at the Marriott Theatre and Goodman Theatre where he was fortunate to work with Tony Award-winning director Mary Zimmerman. If he had to rank his favorite musicals in order, it’d be Spring Awakening, Moulin Rouge, Wicked, and Les Misérables.
