Lirie graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill with degrees in Spanish literature and environmental studies. In college, they interned for environmental NGOs in Chile and in Peru, worked as a Spanish interpreter, and worked for 2 years at a local bagel shop.

Lirie is a linguistics fanatic; they studied Spanish, Russian, and German in college and are currently teaching themself Portuguese. In their free time, Lirie also enjoys drawing, cooking, and reading.
