Julie graduated from the University of Michigan and began with Schuler Scholar Program in December 2008. Prior to joining Schuler, she was a school social worker in the Chicago Public Schools for 8 years. She left the CPS system when she started a family. She then worked part time in the social work field while volunteering in the non-profit world. When Julie was ready to get back to work full time, she was connected with the Schuler Program and have been here for 10 years.
In her spare time, she loves to run and read. She also loves hiking and being in the outdoors and whenver she gets a chance. She also enjoys traveling to new places and trying new foods.
"I love what I do. I feel privileged to work alongside our Scholars and their families. I am constantly impressed by how hard our Scholars are willing to work and the sacrifices they are willing to make in order to take advantage of the opportunities that are presented to them."

“I majored in economics and French and I never would have guessed how much a French degree would help. Being able to articulate ideas well, it's such a strong skill, from my French degree.”
