Joanne Bertsch is the Managing Director of Schools for the Schuler Scholar Program. She began her Schuler career as the School Director at Warren Township High School and also launched and oversaw the program within Maine East High School before moving to a regional director position. Prior to joining Schuler, Joanne served as a senior account executive at a Chicago-based marketing firm and led several marketing and branding initiatives for Bosch Corporation, a leading global supplier of technology and services. Her multi-disciplinary experience in for-profit and nonprofit organizations is a valuable asset to the Schuler Scholar Program’s growth and its mission.
Born to parents from Puerto Rico, the importance of education was continually reinforced during family conversations. She was the first in her family to graduate from college and inspired her mother to pursue her own educational path. Joanne has an MSC from Northwestern University and a BA in Marketing and Communication from DePaul University.
In her free time, Joanne can be found cheering on her two teenagers who play various sports or cuddling the family dog, a 10 pound Shih Tzu named Wilson. Joanne and her husband of 20+ years are serious foodies and love to travel every chance they get.
