Amanda Dunne Acevedo

School Director
Senn High School

Amanda most recently served as the Senior Manager of School Programs at Steppenwolf Theatre Company. Before that, she served as a Success Coach for the Obama Foundation's Community Leaderships Corps and as an instructor with Northwestern's Civic Education Project. She attended the Harvard Graduate School of Education, graduating with a Master's in Education in 2018. Until the summer of 2017 Amanda was the Director of Education at Northlight Theatre, a Lead Teaching Artist with Steppenwolf Theatre Company, and taught the Teaching Artist Seminar and Practicum courses at University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC). She has crafted and facilitated professional development workshops for Ingenuity Inc., Lincoln Center Education's Summer Forum, Harvard’s Graduate School of Education and Kennedy School, Steppenwolf Theatre, Miami University, Pennsylvania State University, and University of Texas at Austin.

Amanda comes from a background in theatre, performance art, and arts education. She has an active storytelling and performance practice.
