Saturday, March 5, was a busy day for many of our Scholars, in particular our freshmen at Lindblom Math & Science Academy, Zion-Benton Township High School and Maine East High School, who spent the day exploring STEM fields during their freshman core exposure. Robert Chapman, a current freshman Scholar at Lindblom Math & Science Academy, and his fellow peers spent their day at the Adler Planetarium. Warren Township High School junior Scholars had a particularly exciting core exposure. Prior to seeing the new opera, Bel Canto, Scholars had the pleasure of meeting with one of the opera’s stars, tenor William Burden. Playing the Peruvian Vice President Rubén Iglesias, Burden spent a few hours talking to Scholars about the play, his background and his career as an opera star.
