Meet the Scholar Coaches

Each year, the Schuler Scholar Program recruits highly motivated, academically strong college graduates to work as AmeriCorps Scholar Coaches (SCs). These SCs come from a variety of backgrounds and offer diverse skill sets. In this ever-evolving and challenging position, SCs deliver enrichment programs and mentor Schuler Scholars. For some, the SC experience lays a solid foundation for next career steps, while for others it serves as a bridge before going on to graduate school. In either case, SCs become an integral part of the organization and of Scholars’ lives. When SCs complete their AmeriCorps service, they usually stay connected to Schuler and continue to be resources for Scholars and for one another. Check out what SC alumni are doing now.

Madeline is a former Schuler College Counselor and Educational Couselor for HPHS. She is now an intern at a public elementary school in Philadelphia through Social Work Connection. She is involved in UPenn campus groups, including Social Work Advocates for Immigrant Rights and the Hispanic/Latino Alliance for Change and Equity. She also plans to volunteer to assist with essay writing and college counseling workshops through local non-profit organizations.
