In addition to graduating as the valedictorian of Round Lake High School in 2009, Susan participated on the academic and math teams, worked as a backstage crew member for the theater department, and participated in the Powderpuff team. She was also a member of the National Honor Society. Susan gained experience traveling through the Schuler Scholar Program; she volunteered as a camp leader at Camp Manito-wish in Boulder Junction, Wisconsin, enrolled in human biology courses at the University of Southern California after her sophomore year, and volunteered in Poland the summer after her junior year. Her academic and extracurricular successes helped her to gain access to Notre Dame. At the University, she is currently pursuing a double-major in Anthropology and as a Science Pre-Professional. She is the first in her family to go to a four year college.
