Helping high potential youth gain access into the most selective colleges and universities in the country
Waukegan High School, Class of 2009
Bryn Mawr College, Class of 2013
At Waukegan High School, Erika excelled in her academic and extracurricular pursuits. She graduated high school as an Honor Roll student. She was also the editor of the high school yearbook, co-chair of Youth Allies C.A.R.E., co-founder of Bulldog, Inc. (a volunteer organization that seeks to improve and beautify Waukegan High School), and the layout editor of the high school newspaper. All of her incredible accomplishments helped her to gain access to Bryn Mawr College in the fall of 2009. Erika was raised by a single parent and is the first in her family to graduate high school with honors and attend college.
At Bryn Mawr, Erika continues to excel. In addition to being a tour guide for the admissions office, she also volunteers as an ambassador for Bryn Mawr, working as a representative of the college and source of information for prospective students. Erika is also the sole photographer for the college’s online fashion magazine, “Hepburn’s Closet;” the photography editor for the Bi-College News (Bryn Mawr and Haverford’s award-winning newspaper); and the hired photographer for the Athletics department. Erika plans to create an advocacy group for immigration reform at Bryn Mawr. She is currently pursuing an English Major with a Teacher Certification and a Spanish minor.
