Neal Anthony Ellis

As a member of the class of 2010, Neal was very active in the Waukegan High School community. In addition to being a musician with the Waukegan Symphony Orchestra and president of the Orchestra Council, he was an Illinois State Scholar and a member of the National Honor Society. The Schuler Scholar Program provided funding for Neal to travel to New Zealand during the summer before his junior year to work on a reforestation project.

After graduating from Waukegan, Neal attended Williams College. There he studied Music Performance, honing his skills on the Double Bass and voice. He was active in such ensembles as the Berkshire Symphony Orchestra, the Williams College Concert Chorus, and the Student Symphony. Neal was fortunate enough have been able to travel with the Concert Chorus on a Choral tour of South Africa during his second year. During the spring of his third year at Williams, Neal received approval to travel to the University of Nicosia in Cyprus where he was able to further his studies in music. Neal also served as an SSP Campus Ambassador for the 2013-2014 school year.

Neal is currently employed as a paralegal at the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Southern District of New York. He plans to perform in New York City in his spare time.

Neal is a first-generation college student from a single parent household.
