Allison McCormack

Waukegan High School, Class of 2007
Smith College, Class of 2011

Allie’s strong academic performance at Waukegan High School (she was 3rd in her graduating class) helped her secure a spot in Smith’s class of 2011. At Smith, Allie pursued a double major in Classical Studies and Medieval Studies. She studied the history of Celtic Christianity at a monastery in Ireland in May of 2009 and she spent the 2009-2010 school year at the University of Edinburgh in Scotland. Allie also interned at the cartography department of the Newberry Library in Chicago during the summer of 2009.

Allie is the first person in her family to attend a 4-year college. After graduating from Smith in 2011 she went on to earn both her Masters of Medieval Studies from Fordham University as well as her Masters of Library Science with a concentration in Rare Books Librarianship from Indiana University, Bloomington, in 2014. She is now the Rare Books Catalog Librarian at Baylor University in Waco, Texas.
